Oral antioxidants can have 'beautifying' properties

Taking antioxidant oral supplements can help enhance the skin’s natural protective properties as well as having beautifying properties, according to Lycored’s wellness and cosmetics director David Djerassi.

Speaking during the recent Beauty from Within Conference 2010, brought to you by CosmeticsDesign-Europe.com and NutraIngredients.com, Djerassi explained that recent studies have started looking into the beautifying properties of oral antioxidant supplementation.

Some antioxidants show enhanced protection of up to 40 percent against UV light, he explained, and certain combinations can improve skin density, prevent collagen damage and improve elasticity.
